WELCOME TO SUNNYSIDE FARM, SUFFOLK

WELCOME TO SUNNYSIDE FARM, SUFFOLKWELCOME TO SUNNYSIDE FARM, SUFFOLK

Location:

Sunnyside Farm, IP19 8RH is nestled amongst the gently rolling countryside of North East Suffolk. Situated near the level crossing at the edge of Westhall village, it is surrounded by arable farm land, quietly hidden out in the ‘stix’, and well off the beaten track. We can (just about) be found between the historic market towns of Halesworth, Bungay and Beccles.

This is a prime location for accessing Suffolk & South Norfolk. We are a 2 hour drive from London – 12 mins off the A12 at Blythburgh, towards Beccles, or 45 minutes from Norwich – turning left off the A145 (the old Roman Road known as ‘Stone Street’) from Bungay, at Ilketshall Saint Lawrence.

Sunnyside Farm is a short 15 minutes’ drive to the beautiful coast, heathland & beaches AONB at Covehithe and Southwold, Dunwich & Walberswick, RSPB Minsmere. The Broads & Waveney Valley are also nearby with Latitude Festival at Henham (only 4 miles away). All are reachable within easy cycling distance, along small country lanes.

Westhall Parish boasts many miles of quiet country lanes, bridleways and footpaths - ideal for families with dogs, walkers & cyclists, and those who may just like to stay local and abandon the car for a day or two!

The No.1 National Cycle Route passes along the end of our lane (Wangford Road/Cox Common) and we are a perfect little stop off for any weary cyclist in need of rest and a place to pitch up.

If you would like to hire bikes during your stay, we have included a link to Southwold Cycle Hire here: www.southwoldcyclehire.co.uk  tel: 07787427237

Brampton Station only 2 miles away, on the Lowestoft to London (Liverpool Street) line - www.greateranglia.co.uk.

From Brampton station you can hop on the train to visit the nearby market towns of Halesworth, & Beccles or journey more further afield to Woodbridge or Lowestoft.

If you wish to travel by rail, a pick up can be arranged with prior notice. Or 'Neal's 24hr Private Hire' taxi service, based in Westhall tel: 01502 575 888 / 07899011383.

Railway walks are increasingly popular. A lovely route known as ‘Wolfpack Way’, starts from Brampton station and follows a public footpath through our yard across to the old WW2 airfield (now windfarm) the Triple Plea pub, and Halesworth. Simply get the train or walk back to site. We will try to accommodate small walking groups if we can!

The church of St Andrews is C11th hidden gem, and well worth discovering during your stay. We can recommend a 7km circular walk to the church from the campsite - back via the pub - for an enjoyable local ale and snack!

The Racehorse Inn  www.westhallpub.com is a community run pub which offers lunches,  dinners & light refreshments on mid week days & weekends - only a 5 minutes stroll down the road. Perfect for hungry & thirsty campers! (booking advisable tel: 01502 575 665 or email info@westhallpub.com

Enjoy the 'big Suffolk skies', spectacular sunsets, farmland views and experience special starry nights, whilst camping  here at Sunnyside Campsite!
